We are delighted to announce that SeaWarm, one of Equity Gap’s portfolio businesses, has secured £550,000 to expand its heating systems across Scotland. The funding comes from Equity Gap investors, Scottish Enterprise, Old College Capital and The University of Edinburgh‘s venture investment fund.
SeaWarm was co-founded by Professor Christopher McDermott of the University of Edinburgh’s School of GeoSciences, former hydrogeologist Dr. Gus Fraser Harris, and Cameron Muir of CSM Plumbing and Heating. The company uses natural heat from water sources to deliver sustainable heating, with the potential to cut CO₂ emissions by up to 90% while also reducing energy costs.
News of the funding, and SeaWarms innovative product, has already been shared far and wide and has featured in the likes of STV Group plc, Scottish Business News and Daily Business Group to name a few. Once again, congratulations SeaWarm – we cannot wait to see what you achieve next …..see more
