Innovating veterinary diagnostics for a healthier, happier future  🧬
Equity Gap’s portfolio MI:RNA takes another major step forward by securing Scottish Enterprise funding to develop a blood-based diagnostic tool for osteoarthritis in dogs.
With 10 million dogs affected by osteoarthritis in the UK alone, early detection is critical. Current diagnostic methods depend on imaging and clinical observation – approaches that can be costly, invasive, and subjective.
This breakthrough project uses microRNA biomarkers and advanced modelling to create a simple, non-invasive blood test capable of detecting osteoarthritis earlier and more accurately – helping vets provide faster, more effective care.
This innovation from MI:RNA Diagnostics represents a powerful example of how science, data, and compassion can combine to improve animal health and wellbeing. Congratulations to the team for leading the way in veterinary health innovation.
