Equity Gap backs 15 women led businesses to date

International Women’s Day 2024 tomorrow spotlights ‘Invest in women: Accelerate progress’.

This broad theme is intended to focus on the importance of effectively funding gender-equality measures to help secure prosperous and just economies (not mutually exclusive!) and a healthy planet. The UN highlights a staggering $360bn annual deficit in funding for areas such as ending poverty, improving public services and the shift towards a green economy.

For Equity Gap, the theme gives us the opportunity to highlight the contribution of our angel investors, all individual change makers supporting the UN agenda, for backing 15 women led businesses to date. Their support has helped create and sustain over 250 high quality employee jobs, 30 board level opportunities and many further roles in the early stage ecosystem for women in Scotland.
