EnteroBiotix Doses First Patient in Phase 2b IBS-C Trial

EnteroBiotix has dosed the first patient in its Phase 2b RISE trial, marking a key milestone in the development of EBX-102-02, its orally delivered full-spectrum microbiome therapeutic for moderate-to-severe irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). The randomised, placebo-controlled study will enrol around 300 patients across seven UK sites to assess the treatment’s efficacy, safety and tolerability. Building on encouraging Phase 2a results, which showed improvements in IBS symptoms, bowel habits, quality of life and microbiome diversity, the trial aims to evaluate whether restoring the gut microbiome can offer a potential first-in-class treatment for the millions of people living with IBS-C.
