Winner of Best Offshore Renewables Innovation
at the 2017 UK Energy Innovation Awards

Today's windfarms,  far out at sea, are 'daisy-chained' together by electrical cables. These cables are in constant motion underwater and this means they can fail, costing a reported average of £12 million in outages while faults are found and repaired.  Refase(tm) makes the monitoring of each of these connecting cables affordable for the first time, so that faults can be located and repaired much faster, reducing outage costs and damage caused to extremely expensive high voltage turbine equipment.

Synaptec were winners from a record 40 first time entrants in this year's awards, celebrating the best new technologies and innovations that are having a positive impact on the UK energy industry and benefitting energy customers.

A panel of senior figures from the industry arrived at the shortlist and winners for each of the 11 award categories as the result of an in-depth review. The shortlist comprises a broad range of innovative technologies, projects and firms from across the electricity, gas and offshore renewables sectors.
